Kep trip

On 31 March 2016, my school has a field trip to go to Kep. This is our second whole school trip. Kep is a very beautiful province with a beautiful beach and forest. All of the students and all of the staffs were going too. We leave at 11:45 am we were leaving Liger with two buses. One was the really big bus with 45 seats and other small Liger bus with 25 seats. I’m on the small bus with my others 11 friends. My bus was the first one to leaves but we arrived kept late than other because we got lost. We stay at Jasmine Valley which a very beautiful resort on top of the mountain. We have five houses four house is four students and the other is for kitchen staffs. My house was far from the others. I experienced many adventures like the weather is very hot, ants in a bedroom, no electricity. But all of those experience makes me happy. The day we divided students into four teams, plant, flower, tree, seed. On the afternoon on each team have a mission to a treasure hunt. The treasure was hidden by our facilitator. Each team has a GPS to find the treasure but our team has only two or three gaps. I love my team so much because we collaborate together very well and we have a lot of encouragement to our friends. The next day we went to Rabbit Island. We were spending one night at there. I swam whole days there. I love this trip so much because I got to hang out with my friends and experience many new things also learn from it.

Technovation National Pitch

A global technology entrepreneurship program just for girls, Technovation is a 12-week program that teaches the basics of computer programming to young girls between the ages of 10 to 19. After learning the basic computer programming skills my team created a mobile application business idea and write a business plan. There are 14 teams of talented females from across Cambodia present their business plans and mobile applications to a panel of judges and investors. Apart from winning prizes, the winners also stand a chance to make a global pitch in San Francisco, USA.

Hosted by Technovation, the Technovation Challenge aims to promote women in science. With over 5,400 girls from 28 countries developing 1,029 mobile applications and learning how to launch startup companies, Technovation is slowly but surely accomplishing its goal of offering girls the chance to become high-tech entrepreneurs. The Technovation Cambodia National Pitch was held on April 24, from 8am to 12pm at the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center.

STEM FESTIVAL & MAKER FAIR

Known as the largest STEM event in Cambodia held at a national level, it is a free, non-profit festival that is open to the public. The purpose of this festival is to generate hype and excitement in the Cambodian youths about STEM –  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It is essential that youths are inspired and curious about science at a young age as it leads them to be interested in pursuing a STEM-related career in the future. However, even though this festival is mainly targeted at youths aged 11-17 years old, people of all ages are welcomed to come together and celebrate the importance and wonders of the STEM. Presented in an exciting and fun way, you can expect to discover the benefits of STEM and get your hands dirty while diving into the world of science and engineering!

The highlight of this festival will definitely be the various workshops and exhibits that will be held. In particular, the workshops are grouped under three main themes: “Hands-on Science”, “Innovation Sessions” and “Tools for Teachers”. This ensures that many aspects of science and engineering are covered along with the different approaches to learning. Expected to be the most popular with the youths, “Hands-on science” presents various interesting and visually appealing experiments in a scientific way. Experiments that appeal to all 5 senses, the youths will not even realize that they are learning with the amount of fun that they will have. Another opportunity is also presented for youth via the “Innovation Sessions” as they are encouraged to challenge themselves to find innovative solutions to problems that are posed by engineers and designers. Allowing them to think out of the box and train their problem-solving skills, it teaches them that they all have the potential to become inventors.

Hairstyle Independence Discovery

Hairstyle
In this independence discovery, I learned how to do many different types of hairstyles. This independence discovery teaches me to be creative and try to add some style to the hair.  Whether a women hair or men hair, it is the first most noticeable part of our beauty. It enhances our personality and also an important part of our appearance and sets the tone for our entire look. A bad hair day is just a bad day. With good hairstyle, you also have the confidential and the control of yourself.

Country Events

Country event
In this independence discovery project, I learned about the countries events. I choose one country event from some country than I search and learn about that event. The most thing that I focus on is history, when was it found, when it happening…… After I learned all of that events I created a blog where I can tell information about those events. There are nine festivals that I learned about and there are seven countries. It takes me a couple of weeks to finish this project. I am very glad to learn something new and create something on my own.

I was joined in with the juniors and other senior students in the beach clean-up event that were created by our Liger students. Beach clean up event happen in many countries once a year. We were the first beach clean up team in Cambodia. We were divided into the different team, which each team includes two juniors and two senior. All materials such as wastes bag and survey paper were handed into each team, We left school on the early morning of Saturday and head to down to Kep province. With the arrival of volunteers from Koh Seh island joining with our team, we started to collect wastes on the shore. each type of waste was surveyed into different categories of waste. I felt really satisfied spending my day helping to clean up a part Cambodia. My favorite part of the trip was the collaboration from the kids in the community started to help collect the wastes. This shows that to make a change is hard, but most importantly take step little by little and be a role model. Change people perspectives and start sending inspirations to the little one

Ministry Day

It was a big day on December 12, 2016. There are 60 people from the ministry of education who come to see Liger learning workshop that presented by the Liger students. My session is about STEAM. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. My role in this workshop is to explain what is STEAM means, explain about performance and about invention convention. our main idea in STEAM session, we want the government to have a STEAM activity like Liger too. I think this activity is really good for the student because it will make they work in a team better and collaborate together. Also, they can have a lot of creative ideas which help their brain think faster and smarter. I really excited about this event because I can share what my experience and my knowledge to the older people. It helps me on my presentation skill too.

Luna Performance

We were invited to sing at the Luna pizza restaurant. It was a marvelous night with all of the audiences and Liger family. I was really nervous but with all of my friend’s support, I felt less nervous during the performance. Everyone did a very good job. The audiences were very supportive and enjoying a lot of our show.
